Radiology

With the emergence of evidence-based medicine, the role of Radiology has become central to disease management, with a wide choice of tools and techniques available for the detection, staging and treatment. Diagnostic imaging provides detailed information about structural or disease related changes.

The radiology unit of the university hospital is responsible for the provision of services such as general and specialized x-ray procedures, computed tomography (CT) scan procedures, electrocardiogram, ultrasound and dental x-rays. This section works with doctors in early detection and diagnosis of diseases of the body, the bony skeleton, fractures and their subsequent management. Patients receive the latest in high-quality diagnostic and treatment imaging services at University Health Services-KNUST Radiology Department. The unit provides radiological services to staff and dependents of the university community, students and the general public.

Our facilities have been equipped with the state-of-the-art radiology machines and are staffed by skilled Radiologists and radiographers. The Department of Radiology is recognized as one of the premier departments in the country based on clinical expertise, academic productivity and excellence in educational programs.
