Welcome Message

Welcome to the University Health Services, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology website. Our site provides information about our clients' services, programs, and general health news.

The University Health Services (UHS) provides healthcare services to the University Community and the Public, complementing other Public and Private Health Institutions in healthcare provision in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Our health facilities are: The University Hospital, the Staff Clinic, and the Students' Clinic.

Our mandate as a University Health Service is to promote and preserve the health and well-being of the University's members, staff, and retirees (and their dependents).
It is our vision to make Members of the University Community the healthiest in Ghana. We hope to do so as outlined in our Medium Term Plan of the Hospital.

The Hospital is a member of the Ghana Association of Quasi-Government Health Institutions  (GAQHI), an Agency of the Ministry of Health (MOH), and is registered by the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency, HeFRA (also an Agency of the MOH) as a District-level Hospital.

The University Hospital provides 24-hour services, seven days a week. Services provided include Emergency care, Outpatient consultation, inpatient care, Maternity, Diagnostic, Physiotherapy, Renal Dialysis, and Public Health.
Clinics available are General Medical, Dental, Eye, Dietetic, and Specialist Clinics in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Opthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry.

The University Hospital is accredited by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and other Private Mutual Health Insurance companies to offer insured services to their clients.

It is also accredited by the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons(GCPS), the West Africa College of Surgeons (WACS), the Ghana College of Pharmacists, the West Africa College of Pharmacists, and the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives to provide residency training in the various specialties of the Health professions. Housemanship training is undertaken in the Hospital and is accredited by The Medical and Dental Council of Ghana (MDC).

We have a highly skilled and dedicated staff (physicians, clinical, and support personnel) whose ultimate goal is to provide our clients with the best care possible respectfully and compassionately. We continue to look for new ways to be better at what we do, and as a fundamental component of our mission is to allow ourselves to be guided by the needs of those we serve, please do not hesitate to let us know what we can do to make your visit to the University Hospital and Clinics a more comfortable one. We will happily receive your feedback as you go through our website.

Thank you for your visit.
