AstraZeneca Ghana donates to the University Hospital, KNUST.

AstraZeneca is a global science-oriented pharmaceutical company focused on providing quality and affordable medications. As part of their global mandate to aid in adequately managing pediatric asthma, the world-renowned biopharmaceutical company donated two(2) nebulizers and their accessories to the Child health department of the university hospital. Through its partnership with the MOH, GHS, and other health agencies, the remarkable initiative aims to provide affordable and quality asthma care in Ghana. The country lead of AstraZeneca Ghana and other executives attended the event to mark the presentations. On behalf of the hospital, the director, Dr. Wusu-Ansah, commended the initiative and the role of AstraZeneca Ghana in aiding the hospital in setting up its Asthma clinic and training its staff in Asthma Management. Before this initiative, the hospital staff was led through the proper use of a nebulizer, a drug delivery equipment used to administer medications in the form of most inhaled into the lung to treat acute forms of asthma and other respiratory illnesses. The medical doctors, nurses, and pharmacists attended the event.
