Diseases of the breast are fairly common among women, with breast cancer being the most consequential. Breast cancer is the leading cancer among Ghanaian women, and more than 50% are detected late. Early detection is essential for improving breast cancer outcomes and is the basis of our BeAware Breast Health Awareness Program

BeAware Breast Health Awareness Program is designed to make women conscious of changes in their breasts and has an early diagnosis element. The program includes:

  • Yearly Clinical Breast Examinations
  • Reinforcement of Monthly Breast Self-Examinations
  • Breast Health Education
  • Clinical Management Pathways

You are invited to visit the KNUST Hospital for enrolment in the program and may receive an invitation by telephone. You will receive a Clinical Breast Examination from trained personnel and instructions on Breast Self-Examination. You will then receive a scheduled Clinical Breast Examination every year. You will be directed to an appropriate clinical management pathway if necessary.

Call 050 715 9410 to enrol or ask hospital staff for help.
